Nos da gusto tener entre nosotros, y en nuestras manos, la segunda edición del Companion to Neo-Latin studies (Part I) entirely rewritten, lo cual vale decir en español, corregida, aumentada y
—¿por qué no?— en realidad mucho muy mejorada, lo mismo en cuanto a notas y referencias bibliográficas que en cuanto a expresión y redacción inglesa, como podrá verificarlo quien someramente compare la extensión, la expresión y los contenidos de la primera edición con ésta segunda. Tal vez el aprecio que personalmente sentimos por el autor, a quien conocimos durante el
Séptimo Congreso Internacional cíe Estudios Neolatinos (1988), celebrado en la ciudad de Toronto, nos estorbe para mostrarnos del todo imparciales en esta reseña que concienzudamente trata
de servir con autenticidad al público lector.
