Focus and scope
NOVA TELLVS is the only scientific journal published in Mexico whose purpose is to disseminate philological research on Greek, Latin, and Sanskrit languages and literatures, as well as addressing their tradition and reception. It publishes articles, research notes, documents, reviews, and news related to these fields of study. Since 1983, NOVA TELLVS has had a printed version (ISSN 0185-3058) and a digital version (ISSN 2683-1759).
This journal is biannual: the first volume covers the period from January to June and comes out in January; the second volume covers the period from July to December and comes out in July.
NOVA TELLVS is aimed at the national and international community of scholars of classical philology and tradition, as well as related areas. The main fields of study covered by this journal are: Greek language, literature and culture, Latin and Sanskrit, linguistics, epigraphy, codicology, literary theory, philosophy, history, science, archaeology, art, anthropology, bibliology, law, geography, historiography, mythology, religion, rhetoric, and classical tradition. The call to receive collaborations is permanent. Papers may be submitted in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, or Spanish. The journal only accepts original materials. To ensure that all contributions are unpublished NOVA TELLVS uses the iThenticate tool. If the texts pass this test, it starts the arbitration process according to the double-blind peer review model.
NOVA TELLVS is a publication attached to the Centro de Estudios Clásicos of the Instituto de Investigaciones Filológicas and receives public funding through the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, which is why it has open access.
