Abstract
This paper deals with the analysis of the teaching of Spanish pronunciation in six guides of conversation and pronunciation published throughout the nineteenth century, texts that were composed with the aim of teaching briefly and with little theoretical apparatus a second language. Along with grammars, dictionaries and orthographies, these guides are invaluable sources for the history of Spanish pronunciation and for the study of the phonic component of our language: the guides usually include some lines about the Spanish articulation or the figurative pronunciation of vocabularies and Dialogues (the frequent contents in these manuals).Metrics
