Abstract
According to Gian Biagio Conte's theoretical principles dealing with poetic memory; and allusion, this article analyzes in Rafael Landivar's Rusticatio Mexicana the allusion to the poetic past, based on occurrence of Greco-Roman gods and the concept of imitation related with the figure of Venus. The poetic memory consists not only in topoi, but it is the space vvhere the poet assumes the literary tradition and his membership to the didactic genre.
