El estatus de la mujer en la Escandinavia de la era vikinga: lectura feminista crítica de Vǫluspá

Resumen
Este artículo analiza el reconocido poema éddico Vǫluspá desde un enfoque crítico feminista que toma en cuenta las características sociales y las relaciones de poder con el fin de entender el papel y el lugar de las mujeres en la sociedad nórdica de la edad vikinga, y así contribuir al conocimiento sobre el orden social de la misma. En su primera parte, el artículo presenta las ideas del enfoque crítico feminista y la relación entre el género y el poder que sustentan su marco analítico. A continuación, discute la situación de la mujer en la sociedad escandinava de aquel entonces, en particular su asociación con la sabiduría, el poder, la magia y la maldad. El ensayo concluye señalando los puntos relevantes sobre el estatus de las mujeres en relación con la posesión del poder y el entendimiento de la condición femenina en el mundo escandinavo de la época vikinga como se describe en el poema.
