Alejandro Sacbé Shuttera earned his doctorate in philosophy and cultural studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the University of California, Berkeley, with a dissertation on the mechanisms of appropriation of medical discourse in the language of philosophy. He has studied the relationships between philosophy and literature across the spectrum of French philosophy, especially in the work of Roland Barthes and Michel Foucault. He has also worked in academic publishing, where he has specialized in digital management of periodicals. Since 2013 he has coordinated the research project and philological recovery of the work of Victoriano Salado Álvarez (PAPIIT IN-400316) at the Institute for Philological Research, under the direction of Dr. Alberto Vital Díaz.
