Professor Sergio Ibáñez Cerda has a PhD in Linguistics (2004) and a Masters degree in Literature (Hispanic Linguistics, 2000), both from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He is a full-time researcher at the Centro de Lingüística Hispánica of the Instituto de Investigaciones Filológicas at the UNAM. His main topics of investigation are the syntax-semantics interface, the verbal argument structure and lexical semantics, under the Role and Reference Grammar (RRG) framework. Since 2004, he teaches the obligatory courses of Syntax and Semantics at the Masters and PhD Programs on Linguistics. Since 2001, He is also a teacher in the Lenguas y Literaturas Hispánicas Bachelors Program, at the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (UNAM).
