Blanca Elena Sanz Martin received her undergraduate degree in Spanish language and literature, a master’s in Spanish linguistics, and a doctorate in linguistics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Since 2009, she has been a research professor in the Department of Literature of the Center for Arts and Culture at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. She is faculty chair of Linguistic and Literary Studies. She is a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, and has received “preferred profile” recognition from the PROMEP. Her areas of research focus on functional syntax, cognitive semantics, phraseology, and historical linguistics. She has published articles in international peer-reviewed journals and chapters in books from major publishers, including UNAM, El Colegio de México, and Peter Lang.
