Daniel Jacob received his doctorate from the Universität Heidelberg, Germany. He currently teaches at the Universität Freiburg, where he is director of that university’s France Center. He is the co-editor of the Romantisches Jahrbuch. He teaches a seminar on language and the brain, and is a specialist in two Romance languages: Spanish and French. His areas of interest are neurolinguistics, historical syntax, and the theory of grammaticalization.
