Teresa Cabré received her doctorate in Romance philology from the Universidad de Barcelona. Since 1994, she has been a professor of Catalan philology, where she is also Professor Emerita of terminology and linguistics. She is a founder of the Instituto Universitario de Lingüística Aplicada and the Centro Catalán de Terminología. In 1989 she created the Neology Observatory at the Universidad de Barcelona. She is an elected member of the Philological Section of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans, Secretary General of the Pan-Latin Terminology Network (REALITER), president of the Spanish Terminology Association, (AETER), and recipient of the 2007 Wüster Prize.
