Pedro Sánchez-Prieto Borja is Research Professor at the Universidad de Alcalá. His undergraduate and doctoral studies were at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is director of the Grupo de Investigación de Textos para la Historia del Español (GITHE) and a member of the Corpus Hispánico y Americano en la Red: Textos Antiguos (CHARTA). He has been a professor and researcher at universities throughout the world.

His areas of specialization are historical grammar, the elaboration of corpora, and the history of writing. His major writings include Cómo editar los textos medievales (1998), and he also collaborated on the General estoria de Alfonso X.
