Rimar y soñar (nota acerca de <i>Nostalgia de la muerte</i>)

Resumen: La experiencia de la traducción desencadena este estudio que, sin pretender ser exhaustivo, sugiere la singularidad de la escritura de Xavier Villaurrutia. El autor, a quien se debe una notable traducción al francés de Nostalgia de la muerte, se preocupa por definir la negación en su forma sintáctica y la dimensión repetitiva de las unidades sonoras. Centra su atención en el análisis de las palabras mismas, en sus choques de los que resultan intercambios de sentido y valor. En el artículo se propone que el efecto fundamental de esta poesía en el lector es el de ingresar en un laberinto, lo cual le ayudará a definir la concepción de Villaurrutia sobre la realidad.

Abstract: The experience of translation unchains this study, which, without pretending to be exhaustive, suggests the singularity of the writing of Xavier Villaurrutia. The author, to whom we owe a notable translation into French of Nostalgia de la muerte;, is preoccupied with defining the negation in its syntactic form and the repetitive dimension of the units of sound. He centers his attention on the analysis of the words themselves, in their collisions resulting in interchanging feeling and value. In the article it is proposed that the fundamental effect of this poetry on the reader is one of entering into a labyrinth, which helps one to define the concept Villarrutia has over reality.
